Hello,

Just wanted to say that I am a Bob Dylan fan and that it made no difference for me, I still hated that film. But granted I saw it with a mate who is also a big Dylan fan, and he loved it. As to why, he thought it was a wonderful ode to Dylan and that it wasn't really supposed to be treated like a normal film, but like you, I thought it was just a mess. I'd rather wath the real Dylan in action! So even though I'll ignore your disliking for one of the great musical figures of history, thumbs up for your thumbs down!

Hi Brian,

I do agree that Dylan is one of the larger figures of contemporary popular culture and music, at least. I'm just on the side of the fence where the mere sound of that voice is akin to someone scraping their fingernails down a chalkboard. And, even further, the music doesn't do a great deal for me, anyway. But I hadn't really talked to any Dylan fans about the film (I must confess, I don't know of any!), so thanks, that's interesting to hear. Like your friend, I'm sure there are many who revelled in it. I suppose one thing that can be said for it is that it certainly is an extreme film, in so many ways, and you're bound to either love it or loathe it. There's no doubt a great deal of both (though the critics pretty much adored it).

Thanks,
Aaron
