Hi there Aaron.

Just thought I'd point out an interesting applicant that I think is at risk of slipping through the cracks of the public eye.

http://www.bigbrother.com.au/voting.html?memberId=906894

I've mentioned him in a couple of places online as he seems genuinely different to the stock standard 'beautiful people'.

I first discovered his video by looking for audition videos on YouTube and quickly found his MySpace through looking at the Links the video was being directed from.

Assure you that I'm not him, nor am I a friend, family member or work colleague. I just see several people who aren't in the Top 100 who seem more genuine & thought I'd throw this particular person a proverbial bone.

Think he could really help make BB08 a better season than many previous ones.

Anyway, I'll leave it to your consideration.

Kind Regards,
Simon

Cheers, Simon!

Yes, he's put that together quite nicely, in comparison to many of them, and it's interesting, because there's a real division in them between those who are incorporating an awareness of "production", and those who are not. I admit, it's interesting partly because of the contradictions in it - I'm not sure whether they're deliberate or not, but I'd like to know if they are, and I suppose that's a quality worth noting in the videos. Most of them didn't leave me pondering anything. But is he as sure of himself as he makes out? He's clearly someone using it to acquire his "fame" (career, etc - an aspiring film-maker, let's be honest about that... which isn't a crime, as such, but has, let's remember, never worked for any of them). I can't help but worry for them - underneath, of course, I ultimately have this "big brother" element (in a more family oriented use of the term) where I actually want to sit down the nice kids and say, "Look, this probably isn't a good idea, you don't deserve what you could do to yourself in this process." And he's clearly a nice guy. At least with the vile, shallow types, there's a vague karmic element to what they walk into (although, even then, most of these youngsters are just products of their culture, and I've even sympathy for them... but let's not complicate things, now... we'll wait for the actual show for that stuff!). Last year, the copywriter in me attached the slogan to my site, "Sometimes, the most frightening thing about wanting fame... is getting it." And although it's a catchy dramatique piece of copy, I'd advise anyone reading this, who seriously considers going on Big Brother, to remember Mr Eye's advice... whether they like Mr Eye or (if you're an aspiring BB contestant, I'd imagine...) loathe him.

All the best to young Tony. And if anyone else out there wants to throw any links to videos they have noted, by all means, do. And even if you want to plug your own, I've no problem with that (that isn't to you, Simon, I trust you - it's to anyone else reading this). I promise I'll leave it alone, even if I think poorly of your video. Trust me?

Thanks,
The Eye. Oh, I mean, Aaron. Oh, dear, has this started, already?
