New BB forumboard/site - 2008/03/13 16:52
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to bring something to the attention of the BB fans here. As you know, although I have a website on the subject, I have never indulged in the creation of a BB forum board (and never will).
For a long time, people have lamented that there's nowhere to go to discuss the show without drudging through a lot of trolling, a lot of trash talk, and even censoring and bullying that rivals the official site these boards are supposed to be "different" to.
A breakaway group has formed (I thought that might be on the horizon, to be honest) who I discovered today. They've only just started up, and are getting ready for the show, so I want to draw your attention to them.
They've called themselves BehindBigBrother.Net (they're making no mistake who they're reacting TO!) and alongside some valid, nicely penned copy, are providing a forum board for their users.
As you know, one of the things that surprised me, when I first arrived in net town, is how hostile it all is. In particular, the sites don't support each other, and the big boys on campus seem, at worst, corrupted, and, at very least, simply aspiring to the "real" thing they shadow. That has a whole range of pitfalls!
So, I want to suggest this site to everyone who wants somewhere to discuss BB with other like-minded individuals. You may be able to discuss it here (I'm not sure what's happening with this site, during Big Brother), but at very least, I will not be opening this up to new users during BB (as was the case last year), so if you want somewhere to go talk BB in BB land in a forumboard setting (I'll still have the Your Say on eyeonbigbrother.com, of course), I'd say this is your ticket...
