If she can whip people into a frenzy with a jar of vasaline, the mind boggles what she could do for christianity.

LOL!!

I loved how some of the audience was starting to stop screaming (probably because they realised it wasn't really worth the effort) but obviously the producers were standing there continually whipping the frenzy to keep it going - and then they cut back to Tyra throwing herself on the floor like she'd just discovered the cure for all cancers. And so they screamed again. Watch the audience start to wane continually - the screaming was obviously all they had for that part of the show between commercial breaks!

Sorry to be frivolous but, is she wearing pyjamas?

Tyra at least was paid for that little display, (though you have to wonder if it was in money or drugs)...but the audience, what was up with that?

Perhaps they electrified the audience seating? Judging by BB06, administering electric shocks is all the rage

But seriously now, I spent about 6 months in the US a few years ago and was amazed at the number of talk shows; dozens, if you count national and regional. I realise the US market is huge, but I still found it extraordinary that they could support that many. Lots seemed to be the 'trash-confessional' variety, but others seemed to be literally about nothing. As aaron says, a truly US phenomenon

Still, this much excitement over vaseline .... ?

She does a good impersonation of Oprah

Not overly original *yawn*

She has totally lost her own personality trying to be Oprah *yawns again*

The Tyra Banks Show is indeed already in Australia, if you are (un)lucky enough to have pay tv. It's on Arena channel at 3:20pm (and today's show interestingly enough is the one mentioned in Aaron's article about her dressing in a fat suit). I must say, that I've watched it a couple of times, and it's really quite tame compared to that clip lol, I've heard about that but never seen it before til today. But there are times when she does go a bit overboard lol. Apparently Oprah is her idol.

She is also the creator of America's Next Top Model (reality show for those who don't know where they basically search for about 13-15 girls girls who look like they have model potential and try and teach them how, sending one home each week til the winner is found). If you go to forums like TWoP where they have a sub forum on ANTM, you can basically find out that a lot of people do find Tyra to be quite over the top. Lol her nickname on those boards is sometimes Tyrant, if you watch the model show, you'd know why. I must admit I am somewhat addicted to the show, it used to actually be about modeling, but after the first couple of seasons (or cycles as they call them) no one is actually sure what it's meant to be about now lmao, as a lot of TWop posters say "it's like a trainwreck, I just can't look away".

Oh and I read somewhere (probably on those forums) that the reason the vaseline is worth $100 is because of the crystals on it - they're those expensive ones, swarovski or something like that. But still.... its just vaseline people!

I really don't know what to make of that clip. If it was one of my children I would put them outside so they could calm down then talk about control and acceptable behaviour. It seems fashionable for girls to over emote. It sets back feminism 30 years. Remember when women had hysteria and an operation to remove their uterus was the cure. This girl's antics seem to give just call for a revival of the practice.
