Site Time Warping Issues - 2006/11/25 11:11
I had already posted the following message on the 25/11/06 at 2.00am(EST)....

-----------------------------------------------------

OK...I don't know if anyone else has noticed today, but this site seems to be having time warping issues!

At 5.38am (Eastern Standard Time) I posted a new topic about the PC'd nursery rhyme.

At 15.50pm (EST) I edited it by changing the intro and adding a comment at the bottom.

At around 20.45pm (EST) I log on and find that the guest counter problem had been corrected, so I post a congratulatory message about it in the "Visitors Hit 30'000" topic of the General Chat section.

THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET FREAKY!

After posting the message, I clicked on my PC'd topic and low and behold, I found that it had gone back to the original text that I had first written! Okaaayyy...I change it again but I use different wording to what I used in my previous edit. I then log off.

1.30am(EST) I log back on, only to find that not only is the guest counter problem back, but the congratulatory message I had posted was gone and the topic I posted it in had disappeared from the home page selection. Not only that but the last post by Qbarbb (after Cutcopy's) in the "abusive phrase" thread had disappeard too.

I also found that a new topic "Victorian election rubbish" by Terrapin had appeared. What makes this strange is that the original posting time states that it was created at 16.37pm(EST) which meant that it should of been there when I last logged on at 20.45pm(EST) and I can assure you that it wasn't

To top things off, my PC'd topic had changed yet again, but this time it was back to the way I first edited it at 15.50pm(EST)

What is going on?!

-----------------------------------------------------

NOW...If you found that message to be strange and inaccurate, than thats because the site has time warped again! It was as if nothing had happened!

The "Victorian election rubbish" thread is gone. Qbarrb's comment in the "abusive thread" is back and my PC'd topic is back to what I originally edited it to. Not only that, but Stargazer's comment that was left on it has gone aswell. The guest counter is back to normal and my congratulatory message is back!

I swear that I'm not making this up!

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Hi Amps,

I'm a witness!! I noticed the 'victorian election' thread was gone. I made a post and returned later in the evening to re-read it (driven by the usual anxiety I'd said something dumb) and couldn't find it ... ?

Thank goodness for that RedEye...I thought I was going loopy or something

I thought maybe it was a case of "Site Phishing" (spoofed site) that was causing it. I ran a phishing check and it came back as being normal...so I have no idea as to what's going on.

Aaron, Dust....any ideas?

Looks like it's an anxiety shared by a few of us, stargazer; or perhaps it's this forum? With lots of interesting, intelligent posts going on, no one wants to look like a nitwit.

Actually, I've always found a quick visit to the Big Brother official forums reassuring (when they were open). It usually confirmed that there were people out there making much bigger idiots of themselves than I ever would

Yeah Amps you arent going crazy. I did post about 16.37 (well, it was late arvo some time), but when I looked a few hours later it had gone. I went out and came back at 2 am and it was back, with comments from RedEye and Stargazer, but this morning at 10? Gone again. Beats me whats going on!
