FLEXIRENT - 2008/04/19 23:30
I went shopping with my friends, yesterday, who went to Harvey Norman to buy a plasma and lounge. They were completely conned by this salesboy and the unbelievably evil Flexirent system, where they were fooled into thinking they were getting interest free credit. They weren't - they were signing a contract to pay 50% higher than the retial price to RENT the item for 2 years. Scammed.

So for heaven's sake, if anyone's out doing the supercentre thing, this weekend, beware the Flexirent scam. It gives the salesboys extra commission, it turns out, and so they are doing what they have to do to scam people into it. It is NOT credit!! Beware! I might have to write an article on them, as this could actually all get rather interesting, come Monday.

Not only that, but at the end of the contract, if you decide to keep whatever you've bought instead of updating, you still have to pay more money just to own it! Also I've heard you have to pay your own freight to return whatever you are updating back to the company that takes the used equipment.
