I found the YouTube clip hilarious too Aaron, like I'd said I'd heard about it but never seen it til yesterday. Oh yeah, only in America.... Actually shows like hers and Oprah, Dr Phil, Montel, etc bore me. Give me Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, Ricki Lake, Jenny Jones, etc any day lmao. I prefer 'entertaining' talk shows over 'serious' talk shows.

I suppose I meant she is real from the perspective of telling people who want to be models the reality of the business. It is about making money and making people look like something they are not - ie telling a girl she will need to get her teeth fixed to make money in modelling is not telling her that she is ugly, but just letting her know the reality of the business she is trying to make money in. ie she won't get any work if she doesn't fix them - doesn't mean she is ugly or not a good person.

Obviously it's a pretty foul machine that makes women buy into it every time we buy mascara or lipgloss, or feel crap that we are not size 6 (or stupid 00 in the US). I think Tyra just tries not to be hypocritical in letting people know about these things, and presents them in an amusing way for entertainment rather than just being negative about something that she quite obviously made a lot of money in.

Actually I found it interesting last cycle how the two girls who had their teeth fixed ended up being the runner up and winner, lol a cynical part of me says "well I suppose she had to keep them around and get the most out of them to somehow justify the cost".

Interestingly enough, today's Tyra topic was all about the bad side of modeling - she and a few other guests talked about the traps and pitfalls girls can come up against when first starting out modeling - the drugs, alcohol, etc plus they talked about how to be aware of/spot a scam (as in fake photographers, agents, agencies, etc).
