Re:Rove's Return - 2007/03/14 12:54
Hey, I'm sorry if you thought me drudging up old Eyeonbb was me being aggressive at all, it's all tongue in cheek! But I understand the difference now, I just noticed a difference between the Rove article and Aaron's old bits and pieces on Rove is all, but I get where he's coming from now.

And yes, I have a file in my computer where I keep copies of all the dirt I've archived on you all! Expect your blackmail demands in the mail any time now.

Lol, that's fine, Bubbles, really, I don't think we felt you were being aggressive, we were being tongue in cheek too, so all's good

I had to come here and tell you, I was at my friend's place last night when the all new ad for the forthcoming return of Rove came on. Immediately, the 5 people I was watching it with all started assessing how "bad" Rove looked and how he was showing what he'd been through. Then all of them agreed that they wanted to see the first show to see more of how bad he looked after Belinda's death! And I can assure you that none of them have ever had any interest in Rove and they even laughed at how bad the gag in the ad was (which it was, it really isn't the slightest bit funny). I couldn't not think of your article!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I have definitely seen what you're talking about in action.

Bitsy, since your last post I've seen the ad for Rove's return...if fact I've been watching channel 10 on purpose just to see what you were talking about, I did also read Aaron's post.

On a grand scale, I've never been a fan of both but did admire Belinda's courage. (I shed tears for the fact she didnt give up) When I saw the ad, the one your friends laughed at & thought it maybe a good idea to watch his debut show to see how bad he was suffering....well do I need to say anymore. Its deplorable.

To me, he looked like he'd been through alot of pain, probably battled some personal demons & is ready to move on.(almost...nearly)

I wish his new timeslot & show all the best>>>I'm sure he'll prove to be a star once & for all!!!!

Oh, they weren't laughing at his suffering, they were laughing at the lame joke of the ad! But admittedly the talk about what he'd gone through and stuff wasn't too sympathetic, it struck me that it was almost like another form of entertainment, so you're right still, it's terrible. But it wasn't quite as bad as laughing at it, my friends aren't that bad! Why I mentioned that was because nobody found his style of comedy amusing, but everyone said they were going to watch it. So it wasn't because he's so entertaining, it was because there's some attraction to that suffering, which reminded me of Aaron's article that suggested this would provide the pull the network would capitalise on.
