I have spoken to quite a few people I work with and on the whole most of them were extremely upset about euthansia sites being put on the banned list.

Mainly due to the fact that some of the have had a friend who has euthanised (?). They believe that it is a deeply personal issue which has no business being in the public/government arena. And I have to respect and agree with their views even though this issue has never touched my life.

What perplexes me is "When did the government decide what is right or wrong for us?" Did I miss something? I thought the government worked for us. But increasingly it has become apparent that they are pervading every section of our lives, and not in a good way.

It was not meant to be like this. It should not be like this.

When are Australian's going to stand up and say "Enough is Enough?"

We are regulated to within an inch of our lives and never has that been more apparent than now.

I have tried to be a part of society. I go to work, I pay my taxes, I abide by the laws of the land. But never have I felt more and more removed from this society. I actually have come to a point where I don't want to be a part of it anymore.

Something REALLY stinks in this Country, in this World. I lie awake at night and worry. How can I get out of this system?

I don't know yet but if I figure it out I will make it my last post here.

I agree, its like Rudd wants Australia to become China...

colourbox and honey, i am more upset that euthanasia is illegal. we should be allowed to die with dignity. we should have to rely on people looking up on the internet how to kill their loved ones. we should be able to go to a hospice and have a doctor do it for us. that's what upsets me. i have seen people die, suffering with dementia and die. suffering with cancers and waiting to die. its not pretty its not nice. its very difficult and horrid on everyone involved.

its why i gave up nursing. I had one woman starve herself to death, because she wanted to die so badly. do you know how painful it was for her? how painful it was for me as her carer to watch her kill herself? how helpless i felt?

Do i think that these sites telling people how to help loved ones die should be on the net? no, why because their are horrible people out there, who want their parents estates. who will kill or it may be their husband or their wife. to get the super or whatever. so no i dont think it should be. also their are so many people depressed people out there in society today. i know people have said that they will kill themselves anyway, but if we stop one person killing themselves by not having these sites up then it is worth it.

I have no problem with sites advocating euthanasia. i have no problem with sites support groups. so i hope i have made my point. please ask me any questions if i have not.
thanks
